Purpose:

The Talent Assessment Chart helps leaders evaluate whether their team members are the right people in the right seats — a cornerstone for scaling any business. It’s designed to assess individual performance and cultural alignment using a simple yet powerful 2x2 matrix.

Key Elements:

  • Vertical Axis: Performance — are they delivering results?

  • Horizontal Axis: Core Values alignment — do they embody your company’s culture?

This creates four quadrants:

  1. High Performance + High Values: A-Players (promote and protect!)

  2. High Values + Low Performance: Coach or reposition.

  3. High Performance + Low Values: Dangerous — may be toxic. Decide fast.

  4. Low Performance + Low Values: Replace quickly.

Usage:

This chart is best used during quarterly or annual talent reviews. It provides a structured, visual approach to identify high-potential team members, coachable employees, and toxic liabilities. The outcome is a talent strategy aligned with your scaling goals.
