Get Clear on the Problem

One of the biggest problems that stops companies achieving their goals is very simple but often overlooked or mis-identified. Simply put it is Directors/Managers identifying and focusing on symptoms vs problems. I have found most people spend there time solving the problem that isn’t as opposed to solving the problem that is. Let me give you an example, the problem isn’t your sales are not high enough in your business. That is a symptom. The problem may be your sales team are not performing, your competition is too good, your prices are too high or your marketing message is not effective. Identifying the real problem is critical to driving your company forward. Over next week spend some time thinking what are the real problems in your company, not the symptoms. Then focus yours and the teams efforts to solving these and driving your company forward.
