Here’s something that really happened to me this week – it’s a great analogy of how we can try too hard sometimes…
Let me recount a story I heard recently…….
The other day I was trying to get a mass of dishwasher bubbles to go down the plug hole in the sink, so I could wash some fruit
…the more I turned the taps on the faster the mass of bubbles flew around the sink – but they just wouldn’t go down that plug hole
…water splashing everywhere but still no reward for my increased efforts (sound familiar?)
…in the end I switched the taps off and all the bubbles sailed down the plug hole
The moral of the story is:
It isn’t always about effort, more pressure and trying hard….
…sometimes we need to do the very opposite – and turn the pressure off
